Letter from
the Chair of CASA NYC
Dear CASA Site Visitor:
On behalf of the entire Board of Directors and staff of CASA, I want to thank you for taking the time to visit our web site to learn about the vital work CASA is doing in helping move children out of New York City's foster care system and into safe, permanent homes where they can thrive.
CASA advocates work tirelessly for the best interests of the children in the foster care cases to which they are appointed. CASA advocates strive to minimize the time that each child spends in foster care and help to ensure that the children are receiving the medical, educational and other social services they so desperately need.
I started as a CASA volunteer advocate in 2002, while also practicing law full time. Immediately, I was struck by the dedication and commitment of my fellow volunteers—from all walks of life and reflecting a broad range of ages—and the equally dedicated and highly professional CASA staff who train and supervise the steady flow of volunteers.
I knew I wanted to do more to support CASA’s important mission, and I was proud to be elected to CASA’s Board of Directors the following year. I had the distinct honor of being named CASA’s Chair in May 2007 and am privileged to serve with an enthusiastic Board whose members work hard to improve the lives of New York City’s foster children.
CASA is very fortunate to have the support of hundreds of people like you—either through monetary contributions or as CASA volunteers. Please take the time to visit our entire site and learn all you can about New York City CASA. After you do, I hope you will decide to support CASA financially or to become a CASA volunteer.
However you decide to support CASA, you're in for a very rewarding experience, knowing you're playing a role in helping New York City's foster children find permanent, loving homes.
Best regards,

Harry Frischer
