CASA Children

Who does CASA serve?

There are currently just under 10,000 foster children in New York City.  The circumstances that led them there vary greatly but most have been exposed to substance abuse, poverty, mental illness, or domestic violence. With these stressful conditions comes a palpable sense of instability that is only exasperated when children encounter the NYC foster care system. Too often decisions are being made on behalf of children by adults with whom they are not familiar or comfortable. CASA-NYC is devoted to giving these children a voice as they navigate the often traumatic and unpredictable child welfare system.
