CASA NYC 2008 Report Card
- 189 volunteer advocates served 1,584 children.
- CASA advocates donated more than 30,000 hours of unpaid volunteer advocacy. The Independent Sector values the time spent by CASA volunteers this year at more than $700,000.
- CASA conducted 3 new 30-hour training classes for potential advocates and provided opportunities for more than 25 in-service trainings for advocates and staff.
- CASA made more than 2,000 court appearances.
- The courts assigned 704 new children to CASA.
- 625 cases were closed, with 231 children being placed in permanent homes and the rest in safe, stable environments.
